Farsley Celtic and Harrogate Town have mutually agreed to switch their pre-season friendly to Harrogate's home ground Wetherby Road on Friday evening. Our normal ticket prices (Adults £8, Concessions £5 and accompanied under 16's £1) will apply and the game will kick off at 7:30pm.
With the unprecedented dry period at the moment it has been agreed to switch the game which will give the Throstle Nest playing surface two further weeks of progress. The pitch has been used for training by the first team over the last week, and although it is currently playable, the club feel that the further two weeks will enable it to be in peak condition for the start of the new season.
Manager Adam Lakeland commented on the change, 'I had a conversation with Simon (Weaver) earlier in the week and he kindly made the offer of playing the game at the CNG Stadium. This relieves a bit of pressure off our ground staff who have been battling around the clock with the heat wave and distinct lack of water on our pitch. In truth we should have played last weekend against Bradford City as the playing surface following some work throughout Friday evening was OK and we actually trained on it on Saturday morning. We look forward to the game tomorrow evening'
We would like to apologise to supporters for the change of plan, and look forward to seeing you at the CNG stadium on Friday evening.
