Preview: Farsley Celtic vs FC Halifax Town (13/07/19)

Adam Lakeland’s side return home for the first time tomorrow since lifting the Northern Premier League title, with FC Halifax Town the visitors.

It has been a winning start in pre-season for the Celt Army with three victories against local sides Eccleshill United (5-0), Brighouse Town (3-1) and Thackley (6-1).

Jordan Richards, Tyler Walton and Elliott Wynne are all set to appear at home for the first time since joining the club, whilst Jimmy Spencer will be hoping to have recovered from a knock suffered against Brighouse.

Meanwhile for Isaac Baldwin and Kyle Trenerry there will be a reunion of sorts with Halifax, having both been a part of the Shaymen’s youth set-up.

The last meeting between the clubs came in the West Riding County Cup in November 2015, with Halifax winning that meeting 2-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

Tomorrow will see FC Halifax Town will kick-off their preparations for another year at National League level, following last season’s 15th place finish.

The Shaymen will have four new faces on display for the first time tomorrow, with Will Appleyard, Jamie Allen and Tobi Sho-Silva all signing in the past week, joining Jack Earing who moved to Halifax earlier in the summer.

Saturday’s game takes place at The Citadel, postcode LS28 5BE. Kick off is 3pm, and admission prices are just £5 adults, £3 concessions ad free for U13s. Come down and support your club in the build-up to the new season!
