Next up is a trip to Thackley AFC, as Adam Lakeland’s side continue to put in the groundwork ahead of the new season.

This will be the second consecutive year that the two sides have met at Dennyfield in pre-season, following last year’s game when Thackley were comfortably defeated 7-1.

The Celt Army have a 100% record through the first two games of pre-season, with victories away to Eccleshill United (5-0) and Brighouse Town (3-1).

Jimmy Spencer, Ben Atkinson and Chris Atkinson all found the back of the net in the first-half against Town, with Spencer and Ben Atkinson scoring for the second consecutive game.

On the injury front, Elliott Wynne and Spencer both suffered knocks in the victory over Brighouse, but they are unlikely to be sidelined for any length of time.

Thackley are once again set to compete in the NCEL Premier Division after last season’s fifteenth place finish, and Patrick Maguire’s side got their pre-season underway yesterday, as they drew 2-2 with Steeton AFC.

Monday’s game takes place at The Dennyfield, postcode BD10 0TL. Kick-off is 7.45pm and admission prices are £5 adults and £3 concessions.

Remember, we are back in action at home for the first time this pre-season on Saturday, as we welcome FC Halifax Town.

Following on from Monday’s game, our pre-season schedule is as follows:
Saturday 13 July – Home v FC Halifax Town (3pm)
Tuesday 16 July – Home v Rotherham United (7:30pm)
Saturday 20 July – Away v Harrogate Town (3pm)
Friday 26 July – Home v Ossett United (7:45pm)
