Preparations for the 2019/20 campaign continue today as we make the trip to Brighouse Town.

The Celt Army and Brighouse were long-time rivals at step four, and also met last season in the FA Trophy, with Town defeated 4-1.

For Adam Lakeland’s side, pre-season got underway on Tuesday with a 5-0 victory over Eccleshill United, as Nathan Cartman struck a hat-trick, whilst Jimmy Spencer and Ben Atkinson were also on target.

Most importantly, Lakeland’s side came through the game injury-free, and this afternoon will be another chance to see the squad together as the new season nears.

Brighouse are once again preparing for life at step four despite winning the playoffs last season, unable to gain promotion due to have a lower points per game average than five other step four playoff winners.

Vill Powell’s side will have new signing Eddie Church available after joining from Ossett United on Friday, whilst there will be a familiar face in Kurt Harris lining up for Brighouse.

Today’s game takes place at the Yorkshire Payments Stadium, postcode HD6 2PL, and kick off is 3pm.

Remember, the rest of our pre-season schedule is as follows:
Monday 8 July - Away v Thackley (7.45pm)
Saturday 13 July – Home v FC Halifax Town (3pm)
Tuesday 16 July – Home v Rotherham United (7:30pm)
Saturday 20 July – Away v Harrogate Town (3pm)
Friday 26 July – Home v Ossett United (7:45pm)
